Healia is a personalized consumer health search engine. You can use it to find reliable health information on the Web. Healia is engineered with consumers and patients in mind but health professionals and researchers may also find it to be a useful gateway to online health information. The health search engine was developed under a multiyear competitive Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award from the National Cancer Institute. Healia uses health vocabulary database of hundreds of thousands of health-related concepts and relationships to suggest alternate search terms and concepts. This allows you to see the relationships among concepts and search terms that are similar, more general, and more specific than those you submitted. I see this as a step forward in creating even more user specific and targeted information available in a fashion that is easily accessible and extremely healpful.
