Helio is a new mobile brand that launched in May this year targeting the younger hip generation. Helio is a joint venture between Earthlink and SK Telecom (Korea), Sky Dayton who is the CEO of Helio, founded Earthlink at age 23. Helio is in partnership with MySpace right now to allow users to take photos from their Helio phones and post them directly to MySpace, you can also read and write messages and post bulletins directly from the phone. Helio has two devices available right now,”Hero” ($275) and “Kickflip” ($250). They are really pushing to create something that is more than just a phone with voice + messaging, they way they are marketing themslves toward the younger generation is unlike any other mobile service and this is why they will have great success in the wireless market.
