GEN H-4 Personal Helicopter

The Japanese built GEN H-4 Co-Axial Helicopter features a 125cc, horizontally opposed 2 cylinder engine capable of flying about half a mile (1,000 meters) high at a speed of 60 mph (100 kph), and the gas tank holds 5 gallons (3.785 liters). It weighs 155 lb (70 kg) and maximum takeoff weight is 485 lb (220 kg) so you’ll be able to cruise from 30 to 60 min depending on payload.

It’s a interesting contraption, but there isn’t much to see. Most onlookers in past airshows had the impression that the GENH-4 is just another interesting exhibit. It’s true that there isn’t much to see on the outside.

The frame is 2 inch aluminum pipe bent and welded, with a fiberglass backpack and funny looking wheels. The controls are direct - in front of the pilot attached to the control bar is the control pod with the throttle, tachometer, main, starter and yaw switches.

You can start flying yourself for $35,000. You have to build it yourself from a kit and tools they send you, they could at least build it for you. Since this is considered an “ultralight aircraft” by the FAA, you won’t need and certification or license to use it.
