Hammacher Schlemmer is selling a printer that receives and prints e-mail - without a computer or Internet connection. The printer is a color HP connectsed to a standard phone line.
“A monthly subscription service provides users with a private e-mail address that will not be shared with any advertisers or junk-mail lists.”
The printer calls a toll-free number once daily, and downloads and prints any messages sent to a dedicated e-mail address. Picture attachments are printed on their own sheets of paper.
