Fingerprint Scanning Door Lock

Biometric Door Lock

This ADEL Fingerprint Door Lock operates on 4AA alkaline batteries, DC 4.5-6.0v or 9V battery for emergency power. It also features a digital keypad, LCD display and 3 ways to unlock: Fingerprint, PIN and Mechanical Key. It stores a maximum of 100 fingerprints, numbered zero through ninety-nine and the master print has the ability to erase any of the remaining 99 prints. Available for $199 at Brick House Security. So that sounds great and everything, but didn’t those guys from MythBuster’s get past one of these fingerprint scanning door locks? By copying the master fingerprint onto a piece of latex and attaching it to his thumb, Adam Savage was able to open the lock without a problem. Savage and his team then duplicated the feat by making another copy with ballistics gel. And to top it all off, they did it a third time with a just a photocopy of the master fingerprint and a little saliva. Watch below:
