iRobot, developer of the RedOwl Sniper Detecting Robot, has just issued a press release this morning detailing some of their latest robots. They revealed the iRobot SUGV, a 30-pound robot planned for the forthcoming Future Combat Systems, at the U.S. Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition next week in D.C.
However, their new 250lb robot called ‘Warrior’ is the star of the news. Previously named ‘NEOmover’, the new Warrior is about six times the size of iRobot’s PackBot, and can move at speeds over 12mphon over rough terrain and will be able to carry payloads of up to 100 lbs. iRobot also developed the Roomba, Scooba and Dirt Dog cleaning robots.
