Google’s love for Mac proclaimed

Google Mac BlogToday Google has announced the new Google Mac Blog which states:

“We want to provide great products and services to the tens of millions of Mac users around the world, because it’s the right thing to do, and because Mac users inside and outside Google demand it.”

As a Mac user, I am thrilled with this news from Google. I was also pleased when I visited Google Earth today and was able to download Google Earth for OS X.

It is obvious that Google is doing this PR to promote their many OS X compatible services. But I also believe thi sis an honest, caring and sincere effort by Google to really connect with Mac users and provide where others are not providing. Google is acting as a sort of role model for other web service and applications developers in the tech world.

The public commitment comes a few months after Google CEO Eric Schmidt joined Apple’s Board of Directors and said he hopes that two companies will work more closely together with further partnerships.
