Retrevo is focused on reviews and articles about products as opposed to web stores. If searching for more information about a specific product, Retrevo will only show you editorial reviews, comments, blog posts and forum posts about the product. It omits results from online shops like Amazon and BestBuy.

It will also show you manufacturer sites of products and find user manuals if available. You can filter the results yourself via the tabs on the left of the window. For instance, if you want information about the ‘Nokia N90′, but only from blogs and forums, you can click the tab on the left to filter results.

Also notice the dual pane interface. Your search results appear on the left and a preview pane appears on the right. The panes are re-sizable, so you can comfortably browse through the returned pages and read the reviews without ever leaving your stack of search results. We’ve seen this functionality on other search engines like Snap and Opsdo, but it’s nice to see more engine’s using it.
