Looks like Samsung is on top of things with this ultra slim display. Taking the spotlight away from the LG Philips 1.3mm thick LCD and the Toshiba .99mm thick LCD. Samsung SDI presented a 2.2-inch 0.78mm-thick AMOLED (active matrix organic light-emitting diode) at the Korea Electronics Show 2006. Featuring micro-second response time, it can play perfect video files 1,000 times faster than the conventional LCDs according to the company. Since it doesn’t require back lighting, it can be much slimmer and lighters than existing LCDs. More images via Aving.net
