Firefox 2 officially released

Yes, finally, the long awaited Firefox 2 is ready to rock n’ roll. Check out the Release Notes to see what’s new in this latest version of our favorite open source browser. The revamped Firefox includes a new interface theme design, more security protection such as built-in phishing protection, and enhanced tabbed browsing features.
Another favorite feature they have added is ’search term suggestions’ which now appear as users type in the integrated search box when using the Google, Yahoo! or Answers.com search engines.
The release of Firefox 2 comes almost a week after the main rival Internet Explorer 7 was released. And there is much speculation as to whether Firefox 2 can hold market share against Microsoft’s latest IE7. While it’s not likely that Firefox 2 will dominate IE7, the major enhancements will almost certainly help it gain market share.
