Six Apart launches Vox blogging platform

by DJ Neawedde | 26th October 2006

VoxSix Apart has just unleashed, Vox, their newest blog platform. Vox is simple, well designed and targeted at non-tech savvy bloggers. The platform also aims to keep friends and family more connected on the site, like a social network almost.

I have to agree with Pete Cashmore of Mashable! when he states: “The only question is whether Six Apart needed to roll out a whole new site, or whether they could have integrated this impressive functionality into existing services like TypePad, their hosted blogging service. Likewise, Movable Type and LiveJournal could do with a bit of attention.”

I remember Six Apart’s LiveJournal was my first ever blog, before we were calling them blogs and before blogging was cool. LiveJournal was very user-friendly and ahead of the times when it was launched. However, in January 2005 when Six Apart acquired LiverJournal, I think there should have been some serious reconstruction.
