Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta with Gmail support

The new Windows Live Mail Desktop features integrated search, feeds, contacts, newsgroups and multiple email accounts. Live Mail, Lifehacker states, has an “attractive interface with fast as-you-type search that rivals Google Desktop.”
The new feature rich Live Mail, which includes uch integration with web tools, is something Microsoft needs in order to compete with the latest web based office applications - even going so far as to add Gmail support. We’re glad to see this kind of integration between a major OS mail client and a popular web based mail service.
Apparently, Live Mail is a dramatic improvement from the old Outlook Express Windows mail client. Live Mail is available as a free download, and also check out the Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta Screenshot Tour.
