Research firm iSuppli has just predicted the digital music market to reach $14.9 billion by 2010. On the other end, the market for physically distributed music will decline to $19.6 billion by 2010, down from $27.3 billion in 2005.

In 2006, digital music represented 12% of all record labels’ revenue. iSuppli predicts this will increase to 40% of the overall record label revenue by 2010. Shipments of music-enabled mobile phones already out number shipments of MP3 players by a two to one margin, iSuppli said.
