One year Wi-Fi radiation exposure equals 20 minutes on cell phone

by DJ Neawedde | 12th December 2006

People are beginning to worry more an more about the possible hazards of exposure to wireless network signals.

In a recent article by The Times, Dr Michael Clark, of the Health Protection Agency says, “a year sitting in a classroom near a wireless network is roughly equivalent to 20 minutes on a mobile. If wi-fi should be taken out of schools, then the mobile phone network should be shut down, too—and FM radio and TV, as the strength of their signals is similar to that from wi-fi in classrooms.”

It’s hard to measure the effects of electromagnetic radiation because everyone reacts differently to it. Like 43 year old David Dean of South London for instance. He says, “The moment I go into people’s houses I know whether they have wi-fi because my head starts to buzz.” Interesting. Any of you every had any problems like that?

Electromagnetic radiation? Big deal. That’s why Clarins created facial spray to protect your skin from cell phone radiation. Yet another preventative measure against over contamination would be not using mobile phones with high radiation levels.

      Yes, I have.

The tone of this article is somehow funny or well humored. Nothing against good humor, but the issue is more serious than a radiation spray.

Everytime I turn on my computer’s wireless adapter I get severe headaches and all the side-fx reported (burning eyes, skin itching, lack of sleep, etc).

When I spend some days or weeks away from a wireless router, my life become normal.

Sometimes, when my headache appears and happens that my wireless adapter is off, I ask my wife if she’s using hers, curiously, she is.

The problem is not (only) the power of transmission, like the title of this article, but also the FREQUENCY. As you might know, 2.4Ghz is the same frequency used by microwave ovens to excite water molecules. Okay, a 802.11g router won’t make my head fry in 5 minutes but years of constant exposure will have some unknown effect for sure. Funny, most of our bodies are made of?

The last years using wireless networks inside my room 24/7 have proven it for me. People should take it more seriously or wait for the next generations to born…
