Now here’s a pretty interesting and unique idea. The Visomate sits on top of your monitor, so when your face is close to the display (hunched over, bad for vision too), it alerts you to straighten back up. I have this problem all the time - I catch myself leaning forward to much and sit back up. After a while of using this I could see it being natural to sit straight up in your chair. Fujitsu has been developing the F703i for three whole years, making a feature complete, waterproof mobile phone that isn’t so bulky at 17.9mm thick. Take it to a depth of 1 meter under water, and the phone works perfect. Phone will be available through NTT DoCoMo in Japan next month.

The drive, which was code-named “Crickett,” will offer 10 GB at first, then will expand to up to 20 GB for the future. Seagate is now calling it ‘DAVE’ (Digital Audio Video Experience), featuring a 10hr continuous operation battery life or 14 days standby. Weighing in at 2.5 ounces (70g), and can tell within centimetres of a drop that it needs to park the drive’s head, before locking them totally.
TG Daily says, “The Dave drive is likely to be highest capacity storage solution, when it will be introduced in Q2, outpacing the 4 GB integrated hard drive storage of the Nokia N91 music phone and offering five times the capacity of today’s largest microSD flash memory cards.”

Avid, today announced that its consumer division, Pinnacle Systems, has expanded its Pinnacle PCTV(TM) product family to include the Pinnacle PCTV Tuner Kits for
Windows Vista.
The new line includes three products: two portable USB2 digital and analog TV tuner kits (HD ATSC/NTSC or DVB-T/PAL/SECAM) and one analog PAL/SECAM PCI Kit. All three products include an original full-size remote control that enables consumers to access the entire range of popular TV, PVR and multimedia features of Windows Media Center.
The kit will ship in March for $130.

A “Zero Ink” portable printer is what Zink Imaging has just unleashed. According to Zink, it works like this - “The key to the ZINK process is the ZINK paper, which is protected by more than 100 patents and patents pending. Dye crystals are embedded in the ZINK paper and are activated by heat from a ZINK printer. The crystals then colorize, producing high quality, long-lasting, durable, and affordable images.”

Looks like Europe is banding together to slay the iTunes restrictions monster. Just after Germany and France joined Norway in opening up iTunes, a Dutch consumer advocacy group has also been “inspired” by Norway’s consumer ombudsman.
The Dutch consumer group also would oppose Microsoft Corp.’s use of copy-protection software on music for its new Zune player “or Sony or any company that does so.'’
