ShoutCentral.com social network for sale on eBay

by DJ Neawedde | 3rd January 2007

ShoutCentral.comLaunched in late March 2006, we took a quick look at this up coming social network in June. I called it “fresh.” And since version 2 launched in July, I still think it’s a break from the cluttered MySpace and feature-lacking Facebook. Pete Cashmore of Mashable calls ShoutCentral.com “MySpace Lite.”

Now founder Brian Hoffman has decided to sell the site on eBay. Why is he selling it? Hoffman says it’s due to his “lack of time to update and improve the site.” Although the site is quite nice, it could use some improvements to bring it up to par with some of the larger social networks.

The site was designed and built using PHP, AJAX, and MySQL. The site currently has over 1000 users and would be a great start for anyone looking to really make something out of it. How much do you think the site will go for?
