CES 2007: Microvision unveiling Pico Projector
In September, we heard about how researchers in Germany developed a super mini video projector. Now, Microvision is showing us their version of a mini projector, the Pico Projector, or “PicoP”. These very small projectors will be of great demand for mobile devices like PDAs, mobile phones and even laptops.
The one above is being compared to a thin chocolate mint (mmm) and is indeed tiny, but I think the German one is a tad smaller.

[…] It was only a matter of time before one of these mini-projectors made it into a mainstream mobile device. That mobile device will be made by Motorola, which has just inked a deal with mini-projector maker Microvision. Together with Motorola they will create a prototype handset will with Microvision’s new, WVGA 854 x 480 color wide angle scanner. Unveiled at CES 2007 Microvision’s PicoP is just one of a few nano-projectors in the race to invade mobile devices, and it looks like they’re winning as far as the market goes.
