iRobot Create

We’ve seen the things the iRobot comes up with, and it’s never short of impressive. This time they are giving us the iRobot Create, a sort of “DIY robotics kit.”

Basically you have the ‘Create’ base which you build and add from to create a robotic application. No assembly is required to start controlling the Create. You send commands from a computer or add the programmable iRobot Command Module for onboard control.

The Create features 32 built-in sensors, 2 powered wheels, 10 pre-programmed behaviors, an expandable input/ouput port for custom sensors and actuators, and a cargo bay with mounting points.

Robot Mag says “the iRobot team has done an excellent job at providing a foundation to get you started in the world of robotics.”There is actually so many possibilities to this new product from iRobot, that you’ll just have to check it out for yourself…
