Seagate unveils world’s fastest hard drive

Looks like Seagate is doing all kinds of big things. Following their announcement that they will have a 1TB desktop drive within the first half of 2007, they now have created the world’s fastest hard drive.
The 2.5-inch Savvio 15K has a seek time of 2.9 ms and consumes 30% less power than the 3.5-inch 15K.According to DailyTech, “The Seagate Savvio 15K drives are shipping today in 36GB and 73GB capacities through OEM customers. HP is now shipping Proliant systems with 15K Savvio drives.”
