Fujitsu research for 5TB desktop HDs

FujitsuFujitsu has just managed to squeeze 1TB into just 1 square inch while researching patterned media. Watch out Seagate and Hitachi

TGDaily says: “At least in theory, a density of 1 Tb/inch2, would translate into 3.5″ drives with a capacity of about 5 TB, 2.5″ notebook drives with 1.5 TB and 1.8″ portable drives with about 500 GB.”

      Exactly how big is a TB? Is 1.5TB=500 GB? Sounds huge.
