Tesco to get ‘world’s biggest’ solar roof
by DJ Neawedde | 19th January 2007
Solar Integrated Technologies of Los Angeles has just announced a signed deal with the British supermarket chain Tesco. The $13-million deal is for the installation of solar panels that will “provide a fifth of the depot’s power supply” and save “1,200 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.”
How big is it exactly? Around 500,000 square feet on two buildings, generating 2.6 million kilowatt hours per year.
