Dell Ubuntu Machines Released

by DJ Neawedde | 24th May 2007

UbuntuDell’s Linux machines are released today, shipping with Ubuntu 7.04. The idea of shipping pre-installed Linux machines came from Dell’s community suggestions site, where 30,000 people voted for the idea. When the community speaks in those numbers, you have to listen.

Hardware support will be the same as with Dell’s Windows machines, but software support will be taken care of by the Linux community. Don’t let that put you off buying one though - the Linux community might not be paid, but they can often be more knowledgeable and more helpful than professional tech support. :: Direct2Dell
