Boston Police Let You Narc via Text Message

by DJ Neawedde | 26th June 2007

Now you can narc on your friend through text messages to the Boston Police! The new ‘Crime Stoppers’ tip line was designed by Hill Holliday and is powered by VeriSign. The tip line lets Bostonites anonymously provide information about crimes. Apparently, there were 18.7 billion text messages in December 2006, up 92% from 9.7 billion messages in December 2005, and the Boston Police believe that this new service will bring in a lot more tips.

Also, soon after the program was implemented a few good Bostonites reported on some drug activity and provided information about a homicide.

This will make it even easier for the Boston Police to find out about any dangerous LED signs, no doubt.
