You may have heard of Sophia’s new ‘Nani’ full touchscreen mobile device debuting tomorrow in Japan. It’s features include a nice 4.3-inch (a full inch larger tan iPhone’s display) touchscreen VGA LCD, 800 x 400 video playback, MicroSD slot, WiFi, camera, and TV tuner. These are all nice, but it runs Windows
Mobile CE and we doubt it will have the same revolutionary touchscreen interactivity as the iPhone. Also,
Sophia’s Nani features two cameras (VGA in front and SVGA in back). That’s cool but another failing point for this device is the missing hard drive, using MicroSD instead. While it’s a bit hard to predict, especially without more detailed specs, I’d say it does has a small chance against the iPhone in Japan. No pricing or worldwide release dates have been announced.
It’s Windows CE, not Mobile. That means it’ll have Internet Explorer 6.0 running in an 800×400 screen.
