The credit card sized player is complete with a 2.5-inch display, 30 hours of music playback, 5 hours of video playback and SD card slot. All of this comes at a very decent price of about $380 USD, and will be available in Singapore mid December 2007, with 4GB, 8GB and 16GB models as well. No word on world-wide release date. Something like this is sure to push Apple’s buttons.

The story goes that the screen broke on this iPod and dude decided “why not have some fun before it dies?” That’s when he “cut the frame and the body in half, I kept only the screen and the hold switch/battery/headphones module in the top half. The bottom half held the hard drive and the mother board.” This is a nice, but not easy, solution for all the people complaining about having to hold the device while watching video. Nice.

Germany company Xexoo has churned out an 18k gold iPod Shuffle for those ready to shell out €14,000 EUR (or about $20,000 USD) for it. Apparently it’s shipped in a “beautiful wooden box in Piano style” and if diamonds are your thing, they will be creating a diamond clad version soon. If you encounter problems, their 24/7 support will replace it immediately. Via BornRich

Unlike Bang & Olufsen’s Beosound 2, the new
Beosound 6 will feature 4GB of internal flash memory instead of relying on SD for storage. The main show is a 1.8-inch 65K color LCD on top with navigation buttons below, all within a simple but elegant design. The player comes with a leather case and B&O’s A8 earphones at a price of $800.

Tim Knowles created this Spy Box, and posted it from his studio in EC3 to a gallery in WC1 (a couple of miles from East London to Central London). It took a picture every 10 seconds through a tiny spy hole, and collected 6994 on it’s journey. He has now compiled the interesting ones into a slideshow which he is exhibiting alongside the box as an art piece.
The exploration of Chance and Process is core to my artistic practice. Akin to scientific experimentation and investigation, the results of my projects [although operating within carefully developed controls and parameters] are unpredictable and outside my control. It is the wind, postmen, the motion of a vehicle, or players of a game that unwittingly determine the outcome.
